Simultanious actions in Jakarta, Yogya and Makassar marking two years of Prabowo-Gibran

Jakarta – Students from various campuses in Jakarta, Yogyakarta and Makassar will hold simultaneous demonstrations today, Tuesday October 20, to coincide with two-years of the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

In Jakarta, University of Indonesia (UI) students are scheduled to hold a demonstration at the Farmers Monument in Central Jakarta at 3 pm. One of the demands of the masses is to urge the government to declare the forest and land fires a national disaster.

Baharudin Al Farisi, Bilal Ramadhan, Jakarta – The Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (Kontras) has raised the issue of military justice reform following a Constitutional Court (MK) ruling that the Military Justice Law conflicts with the 1945 Constitution.

Kontras acting coordinator for external affairs Jane Rosalina highlighted the Constitutional Court's decision, which stipulates that the Military Justice Law will lose its binding legal force unless it is amended within a maximum of two years from the date the ruling was delivered.
