Jakarta – The Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHI) suspects that the articles that are still in the Draft Criminal Code (RKUHP) which are considered "anti-democratic" are there because the regime needs a shield.

"I suspect that the anti-democratic articles that are still being maintained by the government today are part of, that the government is aware that its performance is bad", said YLBHI Advocacy Division head Zainal Arifin during a virtual press conference by the Civil Society Alliance calling for the abolition of the problematic articles in the RKUHP on Sunday November 20.

Surabaya – A Transparent Evening Dress Competition which should have been held in the East Java provincial capital of Surabaya on Thursday November 24 has been abruptly cancelled. The cancellation has been confirmed directly by the Royal Plaza management and the organisers.

Ardito Ramadhan, Jakarta – The parliamentary watchdog Forum of Concerned Citizens for Indonesia's Parliament (Formappi) says that the delay in the House of Representatives (DPR) dealing with a presidential letter (surpres) on revisions to the Information and Electronic Transaction (ITE) Law is not surprising.

According to Formappi researcher Lucius Karus, the DPR is indeed always slow in processing draft laws (RUU) related to the public interest such as revisions to the ITE Law. – November 16, 2022
