Ali Mustofa, Denpasar – An International Labour Day demonstration in the Balinese provincial capital of Denpasar, which fell on Monday May 1, ended in chaos after a clash between Papuan students and several social organisations.

Ja'far Abdul Azis, Kilas Klaten, Yogyakarta – Hundreds of workers in the Central Java city of Yogyakarta took to the streets on Monday May 1 to hold a long-march from the Pal Putih Monument to the zero kilometre point in the centre of the city.

Jakarta – May Day protesters have cancelled demonstrations in front of the State Palace and the Constitutional Court (MK) after failing to receive permission from police. The action on Monday May 1 was instead held at in the Horse Statue area of Central Jakarta.

Jakarta – As many as 97 people were arrested during May Day commemorations in the vicinity of the Horse Statue and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) offices in Central Jakarta on Saturday May 1.

The figures on the arrests were obtained by summarising statements made by police up until the May Day actions ended at 5.05 pm.
