Jayapura – The Papuan Student Alliance or AMP, which is located at the Kamasan dormitory in Yogyakarta, Central Java, was sent four packages containing a chicken carcass, chicken droppings, garbage and provocative messages.
In a written press release received by Jubi on Friday June 20, AMP spokesperson Paulus Tekege said that the four packages were received by Papuan students at Yogyakarta Kamasan dormitory over two consecutive days, namely on June 18 and 19.
He said that on the afternoon of June 18 an online driver entered the yard of the dormitory carrying a food and drink package and two letters from an unknown sender.
"When asked who sent or ordered the package, they said it was the head of the Kamasan dormitory, it was addressed to or entrusted to an AMP comrade with the initials Paul. The package was placed in front of the sender's room without being opened", said Tekege.
According to Tekege, the next day on June 19 at around 12 noon an online driver returned to the dormitory carrying a package in a red bag. When questioned, the driver stated that the sender of the package was the same as before. The package was also placed in the same place as the previous package.
"At 1 pm local time, a Grab (driver) also arrived carrying two packages in a cardboard box, with an unclear sender's name. It was only (written) addressed to the AMP comrade with the same initials as before (Paul)", he said.
He said that Papuan students at the Kamasan dormitory then confirmed with the party suspected of sending the package, as the delivery person's statement said that the sender was the head of the dormitory.
"It turned out that this was not true. (The dormitory head) said that they had never sent or ordered any goods. We collected the four packages together to open them, because we began to suspect that we would experience the same thing as the Papuan students in Bali who were sent a pig's head", he said.
Tekege said that after the first package was opened, it contained food and drinks and two letters in an envelope containing provocative messages in the name of the Papuan youths who live at the Kamasan dormitory and address to Indonesian Solidarity or an Indonesian People's Front for West Papua (FRI-WP) member with the initials I.
"The second package in the red bag was a cardboard box containing a rotten chicken carcass along with a short provocative message and a picture of an FRI-WP comrade with the initials I", said Tekege.
He said the third and fourth packages, in two different boxes, contained chicken manure, stinky plastic waste and on top was paper with a provocative message. Another package contained dirty instant noodles with provocative message.
"They came to deliver goods with the same motive, in the name of (the dormitory head as the sender). All the packages received were documented", said Tekege.
