Protest in Jakarta demands evaluation of MBG, village cooperatives programs

Tri Angga Kriswaningsih, Jakarta – Students and civil society groups calling themselves the People's Struggle Council Alliance (Aliansi Majelis Perjuangan Rakyat) held a protest action at the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta on Friday July 17.

During the demonstration, the protesters demanded a temporary halt and a complete evaluation of the Free Nutritional Meals (MBG) program.
Amnesty slams arrest of parody account @TheKerupuk owner over critical meme

Rahmat Fajar Nugraha, Jakarta – Amnesty International Indonesia Executive Director Usman Hamid has responded to the arrest and charging of Risyad Azhary alias Icad, the administrator of the X parody account @TheKerupuk.

Icad was arrested by police and named a suspect for posting a meme critical of the government. According to Hamid the arrest violates the principle of justices because it was carried out without an arrest warrant.
YLBHI criticises AGO handling of Febrie Adriansyah case, urges KPK to take over

Bambang Arifianto – The Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHI) has criticised the transfer of a case involving alleged corruption and money laundering (TPPU) that has ensnared former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah (FA).

The handling of the case has been transferred from the National Police (Polri) to the Attorney General's Office (AGO).
