Hundreds of GEBRAK protesters rally at US Embassy in solidarity with Venezuela

Beni, Jakarta – Hundreds of protesters from the Labour Movement with the People (GEBRAK) held a demonstration in front of the United States Embassy in Central Jakarta on Tuesday January 6.

They came from various backgrounds including students, workers, women's groups and civil society organisations, to express their solidarity with Venezuela.

Detik.com observed at the location that the Jakarta-based Islamic Student Association (HMI) Cadre Alliance arrived first in front of the US Embassy followed by other groups.

Alfarisi was a demonstrator who was arrested during a series of protest actions in late August and early September 2025. He had been detained at the Medaeng Detention Centre since September 2025.
