Dythia Novianty, Yaumal Asri Adi Hutasuhut – The Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (Kontras) has revealed that there was alleged forced disappearances that occurred during the demonstrations that took place on August 25-31.

Based on the reports they received through coordination posts (posko) which were opened on September 1, 44 people were reported missing. However, 41 have been found while three others who are students are still missing as of September 12.

41 years have passed since the Tanjung Priok incident occurred on September 12, 1984. The lack of justice continues to be felt especially for the victims and families of victims. This event was one of the cases of gross Human Rights violations that occurred during the New Order era of former president Suharto, which was committed by government officials against Tanjung Priok residents.

Jakarta – The Indonesian Mothers Alliance is urging the authorities to release all the students that are still being detained and to stop repressive actions in handling demonstrations. They conveyed this jointly during a peaceful action at the Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) arts and cultural centre in Central Jakarta on Wednesday evening `September 10.

The action began with a theatrical lighting of 1,000 candles to commemorate the victims who died in the wave of demonstrations that took place in several cities in Indonesia, including Jakarta, from late August to early September.

Jakarta – Indonesian Human Rights Watch (Imparsial) Director Ardi Manto Adiputra reported alleged acts of terror against him to the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police on Tuesday September 9. Adiputra said that his car was broken into and important document belonging to him had disappeared.

Adiputra admitted that he experienced acts of terror between December 2024 to September 2025. Most recently, his car was broken into by an unknown person in the Jatiasih area of Bekasi city, West Java, on Monday September 8.
