Jakarta protest slams US-Israeli attack on Iran, accuses Prabowo of siding with US

Jakarta – A number of student and youth organisations held a peaceful demonstration in Jakarta on Tuesday February 3 condemning the attacks by Israel and the United States on Iran and accusing the government of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka of siding with imperialist interests.

As reported by the Faktanasional (National Facts) website on Tuesday, the action was attended by at least seven organisations that expressed their official stance in the capital's public spaces.

Dani Prabowo, Jakarta – The Indonesian Communion of Churches (PGI) has condemned the military aggression carried out by Israel and the United States against Iran, as well as other conflicts in the Middle East.

In a statement signed by General Chairperson Jacklevyn Frits Manuputty and General Secretary Darwin Dharmawan, the PGI said that the escalation and military actions taking place in the region had caused regional instability, increased the risk of widespread conflict between countries and had the potential to trigger a global crisis.
