Taufiq Syarifudin, Jakarta – A number of people held a Defend Palestine action at the Horse Statue in Central Jakarta on Sunday October 12. They continue to call for Palestinian independence through these actions.

Based on Detik's monitoring at the location at 9.15 am, the protesters appeared to be crowding around the Horse Statue area towards Gambir train station or on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan. They were busy singing the song "Heal the World" by Michael Jackson.

Mohamad Bintang Pamungkas, Jakarta – Mobile coffee sellers in Jakarta now have a new role as part of the city's security strategy. Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police (Kapolda) Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri says that traders can not only sell coffee, but can also be the "eyes and ears" of the police in the field.

The statement was made during lunch activity event and distribution of social assistance (bansos) for street vendors at Silang Park in the southern part of the National Monument (Monas) in Gambir, Central Jakarta, on Thursday October 10.

On October 4, as many as 27 detainees at the Metro Jaya Regional Police (Polda) Detention Centre in Jakarta formed a union called the Indonesian Political Prisoners Union (Serikat Tahanan Politik, STP). They formed the union after one of the detainees experienced torture at the detention centre.

The union is chaired by Gejayan Calling (Gejayan Menggil) activist Syahdan Husein. He was named a suspect on suspicion of incitement related to the August demonstration and has been detained since early September 2025

Jakarta – A number of inter-band musicians and people's movement networks have declared their solidarity with the pro-democracy activists who are still being detained by police, four of which are Delpedro Marhaen, Syahdan Husein, Muzaffar Salim and Khariq Anhar. They were detained because they were deemed to have committed "incitement" during the demonstration last August.

The musicians present included Manson (MENTHOSA), Cholil Mahmud (Greenhouse Effect), Eka Annash (The Brandal), and Delpi (Dongker). In addition to this, also present was the Labour Movement with the People (GEBRAK) and a number of other civil society networks. A total of around 30 people came to act as guarantors as well as show moral support for the detainees.
