M Bagus Ibrahim, Malang – As many as 135 biers were carried in a procession from the Gajayana Stadium to the Malang City Hall or the Malang city monument traffic circle in East Java. The solidarity action was held to commemorate 40 days since the Kanjuruhan Football Stadium tragedy.

The hundreds of biers carried by the crowd, which were covered in black cloth, also had on them the photographs and the names of those who died in the October 1 incident.

"Indeed, the number of biers we brought is in accordance with the number of victims, totaling 135 people. Indeed there are some with photographs on them and some who were unwilling so we just put the name on them", said Kacong, one of the Aremania Joint Team (TGA) members, when speaking to journalists on Thursday November 10.

In addition to the biers, the participants also brought banners and posters with expressions of their grief or demands for justice from law enforcement agencies.

"No Justice No Peace" read one of the posters. "Police Killers" read another. "The Slogan to Protect is Bullshit" read yet another poster, referring to the police slogan of "To Protect and Serve".

At around 1 pm the demonstrators arrived at Jalan Basuki Rahmat and headed in the direction of the Rajabali traffic intersection. (dpe/iwd)
