Jakarta – The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya) is collaborating with a number of social or mass organisations (ormas) to help maintain security and order in Jakarta.
Thousands of members of these ormas attended a public order and security (kamtibmas) assembly at the Metro Jaya Headquarters on Wednesday October 15th as part of the "Jakarta Watch" (Jaga Jakarta) program.
"This event is part of the Jaga Jakarta program, where we are the four pillars, protect residents, protect the environment, protect the rules, and protect the mandate. This culminates in synergy between the police, ormas and all other stakeholders in maintaining security and order throughout Jakarta", said Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri.
Suheri stated that this collaboration with ormas is a crucial step in ensuring public order and security in Jakarta. "Jakarta is a highly dynamic city, so we believe collaboration between the Polda Metro Jaya and ormas is crucial", he said.
Furthermore, Suheri hopes the police and ormas can continue to work together to protect Jakarta from various security and public order disturbances. "We must protect each other, understand each other and embrace each other despite our differences. We must focus on maintaining a safe, peaceful and united Jakarta. We will be even more united in protecting Jakarta in the future", he said.
A number of ormas attended the event included the Muhammadiyah Youth Force Command (KOKAM), the Banten Potential Guidance Community (BPPKB), United East Indonesia, the Panca Marga Youth (PPM) and the Communication Forum for Children of Retired Police and Military Officers (FKPPI).
Then the Satria Banten, the Betawi People's Communication Forum (Forkabi), the Betawi Community Communication Forum (Forkkabi), the Kebon Djeruk Hilir Tjimande Silat Association (PS TTKDH), the Indonesian Grassroots Movement (GMBI), the Banten Indonesian Fighting Silat Family Task Force (Banten KESTI Task Force) and Kembang Latar.
