On February 28 at approximately 5 am Eastern Time (ET), the United States and Israel launched a coordinated attack on Iran. The operation reportedly targeted dozens of military facilities and strategic installations across the country.
At the same time, the US deployed significant forces to the region: two aircraft carriers and their battle groups, more than 150 military aircraft, and tens of thousands of personnel stationed in at least 13 bases in the Middle East.
As an initial retaliation, Iran reportedly fired between 30 and 75 ballistic missiles at Israel and the areas surrounding American military installations in the Gulf. Initial reports indicate that between 201-224 Iranians were killed in the series of attacks and retaliatory attacks. Iran also announced the death of Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei, the result of an attack by US and Israeli imperialists.
This military attack must be seen as part of the US imperialist effort to dominate and exploit the world for its wealth. This policy cannot be separated from the kidnapping of President Nicolas Maduro and the intervention in Venezuela, the blockade and embargo on Cuba, interventions in Mexico and Colombia, the attempted annexation of Greenland and the tariff war. This also includes the establishment of the Board of Peace (BoP), in which Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is participating.
In response to the attack, there was no condemnation issued by Prabowo or his government. There was no criticism, no firm stand against the US Imperialist and Israeli Zionist attacks on Iran, which clearly violate international law. Prabowo instead stated his readiness to mediate (sic!).
As with his other foreign policy positions, Prabowo lacks the courage to condemn US imperialist and Israeli Zionist interests. On several previous occasions, Prabowo stated that the right to life of Israeli Zionists must be respected.
Likewise, his participation in the Board of Peace demonstrates that Prabowo is incapable of mediating, his only capacity is to serve as a stooge for US Imperialist and Israeli Zionist interests. The Board of Peace is an attempt by the imperialists and Zionists to expel the Palestinian people from Gaza and turn it into their own business zone.
Being a mediator is a sweet promise consistently made by dishonest Indonesian political elites who lack the courage to acknowledge that there are imperialist and Zionist powers in the world that aggressively attack, subjugate and intervene in the sovereignty of other nations for their own gain. Prabowo's cowardice in confronting US imperialism and Israeli Zionism actually demonstrates his long history as a lackey of US imperialism and Israeli Zionism. Or, in Prabowo's own words, he is a good son of the United States.
US imperialism and Israeli Zionism are the primary enemies of world peace. Imperialist and Zionist stooges in third world countries like Prabowo will not be able to create world peace, even if they are merely mediators. Only the international unity and solidarity of the working class and the ordinary people can confront the forces of US imperialism and Israeli Zionism.
