Reiner Brabar, Jayapura – Terror and intimidation against Papuan students continue to occur every year, as do acts of racism. These acts of terror are the way the authorities curb democratic space and human rights for Papuan students.

Jayapura – Papuan students in the Balinese capital of Denpasar were sent a package containing a rotten pig's head delivered by an online motorcycle taxi on June 6 at around 3 pm. The incident occurred at one of the Papuan students' rented houses in Denpasar.

Responding to the arrests of dozens of students who held a demonstration in front of the Jakarta City Hall commemorating 27 years of reformasi – the political reform process that began in 1998 – Amnesty International Indonesia Executive Director Usman Hamid, said:

Jayapura, Jubi – The Jayapura city District Police (Polresta) have stated that four of its personnel were injured when a demonstration by students at Cenderawasih University (Uncen) in Jayapura, Papua, ended in chaos on Thursday May 22.
