Olivia Rianjani, Yogyakarta – The Gajah Mada University (UGM) traffic circle in the Central Java city of Yogyakarta was not just filled with passing vehicles yesterday.

Dozens of mothers who are members of the coalition Voice of Indonesian Mothers (Suara Ibu Indonesia) gathered at the traffic circle transforming the noise of the city into a symphony of concern titled "Feast and Prayer for Indonesia" on Monday December 22.

Jakarta – Several families of detainees involved in the August 2025 protests from North Jakarta filed a complaint over alleged criminalisation by the authorities with the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM).

They arrived together with the Youth Movement Against Criminalisation (Gerakan Muda Lawan Kriminalisasi, GMLK) at the Komnas HAM offices in Central Jakarta on Monday December 22 carrying a single red rose.

Surabaya – A "Reset Indonesia" book discussion and review that was to be held in Madiun, East Java, was closed down by the authorities on Saturday night December 20. The organisers said that the closure occurred despite having previously notified police of the event.

The event took place at Pundensari Market in Gunungsari Village in Madiun. Several participants who had just arrived were asked to go home, while dozens of others who had already gathered were asked to disperse before the discussion began.

Denpasar – The Bali Regional Police (Polda) have revealed that three of the four activists arrested in Bali last week have been released. Meanwhile, one activist has been transferred to the National Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri) in Jakarta.

"One person was taken to Mabes by the Bareskrim [Criminal Investigation Directorate]. The other three were questioned as witnesses and have been sent home", said Bali Regional Police Public Relations Head Senior Commissioner Ariasandy when sought for confirmation on Monday December 22.
