Jakarta – The Presidential ticket of Prabowo Subianto and running mate Sandiaga Uno have won decisively against incumbent President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and Ma’ruf Amin in the 2019 presidential election in the Jeddah Overseas Election Committee (PPLN) electoral district of Saudi Arabia.
As has been reported, the “Great Leader” of the hard-line Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Rizieq Shihab cast his vote in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, which is part of the PPLN Jeddah.
During the PPLN Jeddah vote recapitulation at the General Election Commission (KPU) office in Jakarta on Monday May 6, the Prabowo-Sandiaga ticket won with three times the vote of the Widodo and Ma’ruf ticket.
The Prabowo ticket received 9,471 valid votes while Widodo only received 3,821 votes. A total of 13,484 cast a vote in Jeddah while some 24,572 people did not use their right to vote. Of this, 13,292 votes were declared valid and 192 declared invalid.
During the recapitulation of the Abu Dhabi PPLN in the Arab United Emirates, the Prabowo-Sandiaga ticket also won by a narrow margin of 1,645 votes to 1,124 votes for Widodo-Ma’ruf.
In Abu Dhabi there are 5,272 registered voters although only 2,806 people used their right to vote in the 2019 presidential election. (dhf/dea)
