Jakarta – A 20-year-old man with the initials RS has been questioned by police after offering a T-shirt with a picture resembling the "Jokowi 404: Not Found" mural on social media several days ago.

East Java regional police spokesperson Senior Commissioner Gatot Repli Handoko said that the man – who owns a T-shirt printing business – was taken in for questioning.

"Yes, that's correct, it started from information on Twitter, right. The person concerned offered to print T-shirts with 404: Not Found. This was followed up by securing the person concerned", Handoko told journalists on Thursday August 18.

Handoko said that the content of RS' posting was picked up by the local police cyber patrol unit. Handoko said however that police allowed the man to return home after being questioned and making an apology.

Handoko added that RS had not yet sold any of the T-shirts. Before being taken in, he only offered a sample of the T-shirt.

"We carried out restorative justice. Because he has a T-shirt printing business, he offered them on Twitter", he explained.

According to Handoko, RS was inspired by a mural with a similar picture which was discovered in Tangerang, West Java, not long ago. This was then used for business interests.

The man, who is from Palang, Tuban, has since apologised for his actions and the apology has been documented on video and circulated on the internet.

In the 40-second video, RS can be seen with several people alongside him as he publically apologies in front of the Tuban district police office.

"I, in the name of RS, residing in Karang Agung, Palang, Tuban. Working as a businessman. 30 years old. Owner of the Twitter account ombrewoks, hereby apologise profusely to all the Indonesian people for the inappropriate posting on my Twitter account", he said.

RS also apologised to the Indonesian police and the government for the T-shirt sample. He then promised that he would not repeat the actions again. (mjo/bmw)
