Responding to the street protests by students from several universities in Jakarta today, June 12, Amnesty International Indonesia's Executive Director Usman Hamid, said:
Jakarta – A grouping of students, including members of the University of Indonesia Student Executive Board (BEM UI), who were holding a demonstration, were held up in the Tosari area on Jalan Sudirman in Central Jakarta on Friday afternoon until the evening on June 12.
